It is my goal as an orthodontist to leave a positive impact on all of my patients' lives. I believe in sharing with my patients what it means to be disciplined and dedicated when it comes to achieving any goal throughout their lives, including having a beautiful, new smile! Treating my patients the way I would expect myself and my family to be treated are the two basic principles on which I practice orthodontics each day. I love my job, I feel blessed to be a part of so many peoples' lives, and I look forward to sharing in your orthodontic experience with you.
Discipline and dedication begins with the right education.
Over 40 years ago, my father opened Akridge Orthodontics. Growing up, I knew that someday I would follow in his path and become an orthodontist myself. For almost 15 years, I worked at my father's practice, and in 2009, I received my certificate in orthodontics after four years in dental school. It is an honor for me to continue the success of my father's practice, offering time-tested philosophies and the latest, advanced treatments in orthodontics.
- Bachelor of Arts degree - University of Louisville
- Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree (DMD) - University of Louisville
- Orthodontic Certificate - Jacksonville University
Staying up-to-date means continuing my education.
The orthodontic field is always changing, and by continuing my education, I am able to offer my patients the most advanced treatments possible.
I am a member of several professional organizations and study clubs, including the:
- Alexander Study Club
- American Dental Association
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Southern Association of Orthodontists
Many of my continuing education courses focus on research, and I am proud to have been published in the American Journal of Pediatric Dentistry as well as the American Journal of Orthodontics.
When your life is full of smiles, it's hard to keep a straight face!

I am a native of Louisville, having been born and raised here. I am proud to be serving the communities I grew up in, and I feel a great connection to my patients and their families. My wife and I have two wonderful children, Coleman and Cora, who keep us busy and smiling each day. When I'm not at the practice, I love spending time with my family and of course, golfing! My family is a member of Southeast Christian Church; I also serve on the Board of Directors at G.O. Minsistries, and have been a past speaker for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

I love sports, especially basketball. I feel that the lessons taught from being part of a team at an early age are invaluable. While attending Eastern High School, I was an All-State and All-American Basketball player; and in college, I was a Senior Team Captain, winning the Coach's Award for the University of Louisville basketball team.
A successful practice is a team effort.
I feel honored to work with one of the finest orthodontic teams in the country. Each member of the team has been chosen because of their love and dedication toward helping our patients. They are professional, knowledgeable, and fun people to be around and I truly enjoy working with each one of them. I know that you will too!
